Here is a nice idea from the new G+ app for iOS: when you click the ‘add link’ button, the app suggests what’s in the clipboard starting from the idea that you probably will not type the link but that you have copied it in the clipboard.
Nice and unique, as fas as I’ve seen in the apps I have.
Well done Google 🙂

Here is another real life example after my Another (good) example of (bad) UX design.
Do you want some water? Put the glass in the proper place and push one of the two buttons over the glass: one is supposed to give you cold water, the other water at room temperature.
Now the question: which is the button that gives you cold water? The white one or the blue one? Pick your choice 🙂
PierG
p.s. And don’t ask me about the small round red button next to the glass: I’m too scared to push it!
Extremely interesting study by Google on the usage of smartphones, tablets, PCs … or better on the usage of ‘screens’: The New Multi-screen World.
Thanks to @HagakureLive to link the presentation in his tweet.

The remote control of my air conditioning allows me to switch between heating and cooling. In the remote I can have one of two symbols:
. SUN
. SNOWFLAKE
Now, does the SUN symbol mean that I’m in summer and so the system is supposed to cool the room? Or does the SUN means that the system is supposed to throw hot air and so I have to use it to heat the room?
Same for the SNOWFLAKE.
What’s your guess? 🙂
