A recipe I know that works is: use very committed and very skilled people to manage the interface with the ‘external’ team.

When I write committed, I don’t mean (only) money, I mean passion! Willing to make it work!

When I write skilled, I don’t mean someone who knows (only) how to read SLAs, I mean someone who can understand also the how things are done.
