My granparents use to have lunch at 8.30pm. My wife’s granparents use to have lunch at 7.30pm. We belong to different areas of Italy.
We had the lunch of the 24th together (an important moment here for Christmas celebrations) by my wife’s grandparents house.
My grandparents know about this difference of ‘timing’ but guess what: they arrived around 8:15.
They are not bad: they just feel that’s not so ‘important’ … also because what they do is ‘more right’ and in some way they are inducing a healthy change of habit. Of course this is only my analysis of their unconscious thoughts.
This is one of the most common and most dangerous approach you can have in a relationship if you want to persuade someone or manage a conflict.
