I read a paper by Forrester about agility in IT environment.

There are some aspects that made me think.

One is that the term ‘agile’ is not at all well understood: as awareness of agile grows, so does measure of the term.

Another is that for many managers, agile means just cutting some parts (everything?) of a process or at least applying a lightweight version of a traditional process while actually agile is defined by the presence and not the absence or cut of certain practices.

Just understanding these facts, IT depts will get the real benefit of agile methods.
