My boss has been under pressure in the last days …here is his explanations on why IT sucks:
IT sucks because IT people are:
- sloppy
- unskilled
- swashbuckler
- undisciplined
Do you think he is a bit exaggerated?

P.S. Please note that HE IS an IT guy

Well,
If he went through one of those day(s) where evrything goes wrong and everybody is just simply putting problems on your desk without any help….. I can understand his attitude!!
What’s making me mad lot of time is when you talk with people who are not skilled, but act and think they are…. most of the time this is just making the communication difficult and not bringing to solve problems.

LucaCar,
mostly it depends on your definition of ’skilled’: I suppose you don’t agree with that definition with my boss

Well, of course it depends on what he means with “skilled” or “unskilled”, of course!
And I only noticed now that in the definition it was related to “IT People”, I was getting the definition just about “people”
I think that most of the IT people are normally skilled enough (eveen if there are always exceptions….)

* sloppy -> yes
* unskilled -> in business matter, usually yes
* swashbuckler -> no, usually disconnected with the “real” business drivers, nerd is more appropriate
* undisciplined -> yes, but this drives creativity
btw I’m a IT guy
